Know more about malshej ghat and panchgani hill station

A place which is quite yet beautiful. It is the panchgani hill station. It is a very famous hill station in the Satara district of Maharashtra. Panchgani attracts many tourists throughout the year because of its beauty and serenity. This place is also called the “Mecca of Maharashtra”.

Walk on the lush green paths, with view of River Krishna through beautiful valleys and gentle hills of Panchgani is something a nature lover would never want to miss.

There are many places in Panchgani that must not be missed at all. One of the most famous places in Panchgani is its Table Land which is situated around 60 metres high. Table Land is a flat stretch of rock and is the second longest mountain plateau in Asia. This place has often been used for shooting of famous Bollywood movies like “tare zameen par” and “Agent vinod”.

Many large caves are seen from here, the most popular one being the Devil's Kitchen. It is believed that the Pandavas stayed here for a while and used this place to cook their food. Hence, it this place has a mythological connection to it as is preferred to be visited by many hindus.

Parsi Point is also one of the places which is a must see for every tourist in the Panchagani hill station. It is actually the windiest point in Panchgani and is situated on the road to Mahableshwar. Tapola is a water sports centre and is very enjoyable especially by the youngsters.

Sydney point is situated on a small hillock facing the Krishna Valley. It treats its visitors to some fantastic views of the Dhom Dam and the hills of Pandavgarh and Mandardevi.

Other places that are worth a visit in Panchgani are Bhim Chula, Harrisons valley, The Lingmala Falls and Rajapuri Caves. There are also amusement parks with fun rides. One must definitely visit this hill station, if they are looking forward to having a relaxed vacation and enjoyment.

Another hill station which cannot be ignored is the Malshej ghat. It is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range in the Thane district of Maharashtra. Malshej Ghat is situated in Pune district near the borders of Thane and Ahmednagar districts.

The best view you get here are those of the beautiful valleys. This place is well known for hikers, trekkers and adventure lovers. The ghats are scenic and breathtaking. One can find many animals here like tigers, leopards, rabbits and peacocks etc. One of the best views to witness here are the many waterfalls in the hilly regions, making it look lush green and beautiful.

Another Important information about this place for the history lovers is that it is the birthplace of legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and The Shivneri Fort is approximately 40 km from Malshej Ghat.
