Training the newbies: The usefulness of corporate training videos

More companies are opting for corporate training videos to guide their new recruits and inform them about their responsibilities in the organization. Newcomers are not much aware of their responsibilities and roles in an organization and hence corporate training videos are perfect ways to train them. These training videos showcase various responsibilities newcomers have in a company, depending on their designations and the sections they will be working for. These training videos include actors who play the roles of newcomers and showcase the sort of work they will have to do, step by step. By following all that is being showed in the video, newcomers are trained automatically.

People inherently learn things better when they are shown to them rather than making them read or explaining it to them verbally. The visual image occupies a space in the mind and does not go away easily because all one needs to do is to recollect what was shown in the video and do it accordingly. These videos are great substitutes for training manuals which are huge and contain hundreds of pages. Reading them often causes a loss of interest in the newcomers, something employers do not want right at the beginning. But when newcomers are made to watch training videos, they treat it as a sort of learning method which is entertaining at the same time since the medium is a visual one.

Many organizations are into making corporate training videos and each one of them employs different approaches to the making of such videos. Including people from the company for which a video is being made is a good idea as that takes away the monotony from the video and includes some freshness. It is also important to hold proper discussions with the client regarding whether they want anything special included in the video or not.
